[News]Wonder Girls Fans Have Spoken, Still Number One! Pics from Dallas!

Wonder Girls fans have spoken! In a poll conducted by SRADIOCLUB.COM during June 15th to June 22nd, Wonder Girls are the girl group people will support during this summer.

Although they have no new albums coming out, they have been active in the United States. Their song ‘Nobody’ will be made into English and released on Amazon.com for everyone to purchase (and please do purchase it to support). They will also be touring the states with the Jonas Brothers. Hopefully, we do not see a scandal because it will drive all the Sohee and Sunmi fans into rage.

1,147 members of SRADIOCLUB voted on the poll and it seems we have a clear winner. With 663 votes and 57.8% of the votes, Wonder Girls has dominated the other girl groups. Coming in a not so close second was Girls Generation (SNSD) with 193 votes (16.8%).

In a campaign launched by Wonder Girls fans, the polls even hit Korea. We had visitors come vote from dedicated WG blogs and even Korean Daum cafes!

Just today, on his Twitter, JYP posted a pic of the concert rehearsal and released this statement.

“Comin back from da Dallas rehearsal. Me & da Girls finally realized how big this opportunity really is. We’ll do our best to maximize this opportunity for us & for u guys. This is truly an amazing stage. Hey Portland! I need your luv this Saturday!”

So-hee and Sun-mi (or Mimi), the two youngest members of the five-member K-pop group Wonder Girls, have withdrawn from high school to pursue the group’s American debut this summer, their management agency confirmed Monday.

Sun-mi, 17, and So-hee who turns 17 on June 27, decided earlier this month to leave Cheongdam High School and Changmun Girls’ High School, respectively, after discussions with their parents, Han Soo-jung, PR manager of JYP Entertainment, told The Korea Times.

“They found it difficult to balance their careers and schoolwork, so they discussed (the prospects of leaving school) with their parents. It isn’t unexpected news,’’ she said. Han said the girls will consider the possibility of home schooling and taking “geomjeonggosi’’ or a qualification exam that would be the equivalent of a high school degree as they pursue their careers in the United States.

The Wonder Girls’ U.S. album will be released around September or October, she said.

The group will appear June 27-Aug. 29 across the U.S. as the opening act in the Jonas Brothers’ cross-country tour. They will travel to Oregon, Washington, Canada, Illinois, New York and California. For more information, visit the Wonder Girls’ official English Web site: www.wondergirlsworld.com.

Korean girl group Wondergirls are on the rise to becoming international pop stars. They’ve been recognized numerous times by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton on his website, they’ve had US concerts, and they are slowly working their way to debuting in America. Even more fitting, like nearly almost every American celebrity now, they “Twitter.” And while some fans exhibit crazy behavior, the Wondergirls fans in Singapore greeted the Korean pop stars with a sweet rendition of their hit, “Nobody” – in Korean! It’s definitely much more pleasing to the ear than the usual bloodcurdling screams.

On the 11th of June , 3PM , Wonder Girls will appear as guests for a CCTV event . They will take part in the first phase of recording and will bring the house down with four of their hit songs from their new album , performing it live for the very first time .

Special point to note is that, Wonder Girls will be performing “Nobody” mandarin version together with their usual “korean style” dance step. & it is the girls’ first time singing live in mandarin.

WonderGirls American debut song English version of ‘Nobody’ to be released on 27th June

WonderGirls will move on with the plans of their American debut.

The girls who had been confirmed to be the performing guests to Jonas Brothers‘ World Tour 2009, will be releasing a digital single on 27th June. And from 27th June all the way till mid August, they will be performing for the opening show to Jonas Brothers‘ World Tour concert. They will be performing the songs ‘Nobody’ and ‘Tell Me’ for the concert. And they will be performing the English versions to the songs.

One of the American staff said, ‘The song ‘Nobody’ is a great charming song for listeners of all ages from whatever nationality. Not only is the song perfect, the choreography is perfect.”

“The girls will debut with their own charms and not having to transform into the other American artistes.” Park Jin Young will be the producer to the girls’ American debut, and unlike the other artistes trying to hit into the American market, he did not work with American producers for the girls’ debut.

And it is said that the WonderGirls will release their American official debut album in September-October. The album will have songs written and composed by Jonas Brothers. The girls will also work with the Jonas Brothers to come up with a electronic house number.
